Please read these terms carefully before registering for SCRATCHATHON 2026.

Important Notice

By registering for and participating in SCRATCHATHON 2026, you agree to be bound by these Competition Terms & Conditions.

1 Competition Overview

SCRATCHATHON 2026 is a statewide Scratch programming competition organized by TEGAS and STEM Ground (STEM Academy Sdn Bhd), open to primary and secondary students in Sarawak, focusing on the theme of Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11).

Key Details:

Theme: SDG 11
Platform: Scratch
Ages: 7-20 years

2 Eligibility & Registration

Participant Requirements:

  • Age: 7-20 years old at the time of registration
  • Must be a student in Sarawak (Primary or Secondary level)
  • Participants must have parental/guardian consent
  • One project submission per participant

Registration Process:

  • 1 Complete online registration form with personal details
  • 2 Provide parent/guardian information
  • 3 Receive unique 6-digit PIN via email

3 Project Requirements

Technical Requirements:

  • Scratch only (.sb3 files)
  • Maximum file size: 100MB
  • Must be original work

Content Requirements:

  • Theme: SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • School-appropriate content
  • Description max 500 words

4 Intellectual Property & Usage Rights

Participant Rights

  • • Participants retain ownership of their original creative work
  • • Projects must not infringe on third-party copyrights
  • • Use of copyrighted materials must comply with fair use or be properly licensed

Competition Usage Rights:

By submitting a project, participants grant TEGAS and STEM Academy Sdn Bhd the right to:

  • Display projects in competition galleries, exhibitions, and promotional materials
  • Share winning projects for educational purposes and community showcase
  • Use project images/videos in marketing materials and social media
  • Archive projects for educational reference

Credit: Participants will be properly credited when their work is displayed or shared.

5 Judging Criteria

Functionality / 功能完整性

Game runs smoothly without bugs and can be completed / 游戏运行顺畅无 bug,可完整通关

Game Play / 游戏体验

Interesting mechanics, responsive controls, well-balanced difficulty / 玩法有趣、操作流畅、难度适中

Craftsmanship / 制作工艺

Code quality, interactive artwork, animations and sound effects / 代码质量、互动素材、动画音效

Creativity / 创意亮点

Unique ideas and memorable design moments / 独特想法与难忘的设计瞬间

6 Awards & Recognition

Awards are presented in both Primary (7-12) and Secondary (13-20) categories. Cash prize amounts are determined by the organizer and announced at the awards ceremony.

A Certificate of Participation is issued to every participant. Finalists additionally receive a Certificate of Finalist. Judges' decisions are final.

7 Code of Conduct

Expected Behavior

  • • Maintain academic integrity and fair play
  • • Respect fellow participants, judges, and organizers
  • • Follow all competition rules and deadlines
  • • Create appropriate, educational content

Prohibited Activities

  • • Plagiarism or copying existing projects
  • • Submitting inappropriate content
  • • Multiple submissions from the same participant
  • • Providing false information
